Gympie & District Orchid
 Society Inc.

ABOUT US:
OUR PURPOSE, AFFILIATIONS, ORIGINS AND SOME HISTORY.

Our purpose is to promote interest in orchids and an appreciation of them, learning how to grow them and ultimately show them at our meetings and our calendar of orchid show events. Our club caters for everyone from beginners and hobby growers to those with experience and interest in breeding and naming new orchid hybrids and inline breeding of native species.

Gympie & District Orchid Society Inc. is affiliated with the Sub-Tropical Queensland Orchid Council (STQOC) and Orchids Queensland Inc. (OQI)

Our club was formed in 1961 with Fred Nissan, Frank Sauer and Dave English as founding members. Beatrice Visini was next to join 6 weeks later. Dr Outridge was the designated club patron.
